The Parish Council

Meeting

The Role of a Councillor

Becoming a Parish Councillor is a rewarding and valued form of public service. All Councillors contribute to the work of the Parish Council by:

• Having a say about the things they care about
• Putting forward ideas for better services
• Responding to the needs and views of parishioners
• Seeking the best outcome to local issues
• Getting involved in decision making

• Helping to make Bramerton a better place to live!

The Parish Council meets ten times per financial year as standard practice, normally on a Monday at 7.30pm at Bramerton Village Hall. Councillors are expected to attend meetings on a regular basis.  Our District/County Councillor regularly attends these meetings to report on current issues and to feed back to the district and county on matters in the village.

Parish Council Register of Interests

All Parish Councillors are required by law to complete a register of interest form to register their Disclosable Pecuniary Interests and the Disclosable Pecuniary Interests of their spouses or civil partners or persons with whom they live in that capacity.  Guidance – Openness and transparency on personal interests: guidance for councillors

Our Councillors’ Register of Members’ Disclosable Pecuniary Interests can be found on the District Council’s website.

Councillors

Currently all Members live within the Parish of Bramerton and are pro-active for the benefit of the village attending not only the parish council meetings but also meetings with other organisations.

Members are also actively involved in work throughout the village.
